George Town

The capital of Grand Cayman, George Town is also the main port, corporate district and duty free shopping centre.   Though much business is moving to Camana Bay off SEven Mile Beach George Town remains a hub for tourists due to the cruise ships docking there.  On some days there can be 7 or 8 ships in on one days.  Many water sports are directly accessible from George Town with locals and cruise shippers alike having a swim off the many jetties or coves.  There is also a great inflatable water park just off the shore south of the cruise ship terminal and there are some great dining options downtown.  It is home to the original post office sorting house and library, court house and Government buildings are all here.
